Happy New Year, and that 2022 will be all you envision it to be!
Imagine it is December 31st, 2022. You are looking back at all the things you accomplished over the past 12 months. Pretty impressive, or is it?
In the last blog, I shared with you 3 reasons why people do not achieve their goals and asked you to look back at 2021. Was it as successful as you wanted it to be on the first day of the year? If not, you are not alone.
Today, am going to share with you 3 strategies that will make achieving your goals easier and more probable.
Before I get into that though, I want you to think about all the times you set a goal, made a New Year Resolution, yet lacked the follow through. Then after a while, you forgot about it. Days go by, weeks pass by and just before the end of the year, you remember all the things you did not accomplish (again).
Those days are behind you now!
If you are ready to accomplish your goals this year, follow these 3 steps:
- Start with the end in mind
- Take Action
- Build a Team
By addressing these 3 items right at the beginning, you will set yourself up for massive success!
Let us address one at a time.
Start with the End in Mind:
Starting with the end in mind is a different way of saying that you need clarity of what it is you want to accomplish! It is very important that you become very clear about your goal. Is it a results-based goal to achieve certain results, or is it an activity-based goal? A goal that is accomplished by engaging in certain activities regardless of the outcome. Once you know exactly what your end of year goal is, break it down into smaller steps. What will you need to accomplish every month, so that you will achieve your goal by the end of the year?
Take Action:
After you have broken down your annual goal into smaller monthly goals, it is easier to break it down farther into specific action steps.
What specifically needs to be accomplished on a daily and weekly basis and what action steps are necessary? Repeated action or taking action consistently will determine whether you achieve your goals on time. Break your goals down as far as necessary so that the person who is working on this goal knows exactly what needs to be done and by when it needs to be finished!
Build a team:
Building a team and surrounding yourself with people who support you is vital. If you are a solopreneur, a team could consist of a (business) coach/mentor, attorney/CPA or belonging to a mastermind group. For other businesses, a board of directors, aside from employees and the professionals above would be considered your team members.
I am sure, you get the idea. Your team members are made up of all the people/positions your company relies on. Whether they are your employees in various positions, independent contractors from whose work you benefit, people you network with or other professionals.
Remember this: The larger your network, the larger your net worth and/or the faster your progress.
How well you implement these 3 steps will determine how fast your business will grow and accomplish its goals.
