I came across this quote this morning:
"Never discourage anyone who continually makes progress, no matter how slow." -Philosopher Plato
Today, I am asking you to offer encouragement to an employee/team member or co-worker who has made progress in something they are working on.
Too many times, it seems that we are taking our employees and co-workers for granted.
We seem to limit our compliments for "special" occasions.
Encouragement is powerful. It is giving "positive feedback", showing the recipient that what they are doing is being noticed and appreciated. It is a confidence booster which motivates them to continue what they are doing and keep progressing.
Offer your support and ask how you can help them achieve their goal.
This will ensure that your employees will stay motivated and engaged and raise the level of energy and enthusiasm at work.
Also, reflect on your own progress. Acknowledge yourself for something you are working on. Are you progressing as expected? If yes, great! If not, reflect on the progress you have made!
